About Shoalwatch
Every processing plant, exporter, hatchery and farm in aquaculture leaves a trail across dozens of official registries: who is licensed to do what, where, until when, and which regulator has acted against them. Those registries are public, and none of them talk to each other. Shoalwatch brings them together into one page per company or site, and tells you when something on it changes.
Nothing here is inferred. Every fact comes from a named source, carries the date we retrieved it, and links back so you can check it yourself. When a source is unavailable we keep showing the last reading we took, with that date attached, rather than quietly dropping the fact.
Who it is for
Importers and brands checking the regulatory standing of the plants they buy from. Exporters and processors watching their own listings, their competitors and the markets they sell into. Banks, insurers and input suppliers watching the districts and counterparties their business depends on. The pages are free to read for everyone; a subscription buys a watchlist we re-read for you and email you about. Pricing explains what is paid and why.
What we promise
- Every fact names the authority that published it and links to where they published it.
- We say what the record says. “Listed on FDA Import Alert 16-129 on 19 Aug 2026”, never “banned”. A registry being silent about a company is not evidence about that company, and we never present it as if it were.
- If something here is wrong about you or your business, tell us and we will check it against the source and correct or remove it — acknowledged within 72 hours. Use the correction form or write to [email protected].
- We read only official registries, regulators, certification bodies and statistics offices. Never social networks, messaging platforms or marketplaces, and never through a login. The full list of authorities, with status and licences.
